RRHE Graduation
11:00 AM

YOU ARE INVITED!

Each year, Richmond Regional Home Educators hosts a "formal, Christian ceremony dedicated to creating a wonderful graduating experience, full of memories for both the graduates and their parents,  with the goal to ultimately glorify God and His providence in detail and spirit."

All surrounding area homeschool families and groups are invited to celebrate the region's homeschool graduates! Seating is unlimited, so each year Monument 2 Mountain will be there to congratulate and celebrate local graduates!

From their website:

RRHE Graduation is unique in our local area because the graduation will celebrate both the accomplishments of the graduate and the sacrifices of parents in their education journey.  All parents will be an active part of the graduation, proceeding in prior to the graduates to their reserved seating, meeting their graduate on stage to present a gorgeous diploma (part of the package) and pausing to capture this joyous moment with a photo together before returning to their seats. At the close of the graduation, the parents will join their graduate and walk together out of the sanctuary where their unlimited guests can join you to celebrate the start of a new, exciting journey of life. Our graduation package provides several special mementos of the day including  photos and a DVD of the ceremony.

2018 Commencement Speaker

Meet Martin Brown

Martin D. Brown has over 20 years of leadership experience in human services and government relations, including serving three Virginia Governors. He is currently the new Executive Director of the Gloucester Institute, a Virginia organization whose mission includes developing leadership skills in outstanding minority youth.

Mr. Brown recently served as Special Advisor to the Governor for Prisoner Reentry and Family Reintegration and as Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Social Services. During his time as Commissioner, he oversaw the Virginia Strengthening Families Initiative and the continuation and expansion of Virginia’s child welfare transformation.

In school Mr. Brown played football and other sports, and has blessed many church services with his dynamic singing voice. Since graduating from Howard University’s School of Business, he has brought his passion for both Constitutional and biblical principles into his work on behalf of parental rights and prolife causes, and also into his support of homeschooling and other public policy initiatives. For example, he served as Special Advisor to the Governor for Prisoner Reentry and Family Reintegration and as Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Social Services. During his time as Commissioner, Mr. Brown oversaw the Virginia Strengthening Families Initiative and the continuation and expansion of Virginia’s child welfare transformation.

Mr. Brown and his wife, Nita, have two teenaged children, Kayla and Trevor, who have been homeschooled since the beginning. The family lives in Chesterfield, VA and are members of Commonwealth Chapel South in Midlothian.
