Doors Open | 6:30pm Performance Begins | 7pm sharp Reception + Trunk Show to follow performance The Art Center is thrilled to present Move/Repeat, a collaboration with Production Mode, a collection of slow fashion designed by Chicago artist and designer Jamie Hayes, and two Jackman Goldwasser Residents, current and previous. Move/Repeat is the premiere of Hayes’ newest collection, which incorporates a dance performance choreographed by Anna Martine Whitehead, set pieces by former resident artist Nuria Montiel and live electronic music by Damon Locks, who is currently in residence at the Art Center. The collection features five custom textiles made of a felted merino wool/cotton designed and woven in Chicago by the Weaving Mill in collaboration with Montiel’s own drawings. All pieces in the collection are designed, cut, and sewn in Chicago at Hayes' atelier. Please join us on July 7 for this not-to-miss event in which dancers will perform in the collection, activating both the garments and the space in new ways.
